When a Referral is Needed
While we are equipped to diagnose and manage the majority of eye conditions seen in general practice, some cases, most notably advanced glaucoma and cataracts — may require the expertise of a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist. In these situations, we will provide a referral to a trusted specialist and coordinate care to ensure continuity for your pet. Our goal is always to connect your pet with the right level of care, whether that is in our office or with a specialist partner.
If your pet is showing any signs of eye discomfort or you have noticed a change in their eyes or vision, do not delay. Many eye conditions are time-sensitive and respond best when caught early. Contact East Meadow Veterinary Center in East Meadow, NY to schedule an evaluation, we are here to help keep your pet's eyes healthy and comfortable.
